FALL COLORS AT HART PRAIRIE - Posted September 29th, 2008

ON THE ARIZONA TRAIL

Part of our ride was on the Arizona Trail. We passed about 100 volunteers who were working on the trail trimming branches and clearing the trail. The footing on the trail is excellent and the ride is beautiful.

IN THE ASPENS

Riding through the aspens was like being in a Bev Doolittle painting. The leaves were just beginning to change and were falling on the ground.

We rode in the Clear Creek area through a beautiful canyon. The riding was easy but still a lot of fun.

LOOK AT ALL THAT GRASS

We had a cool ride though the meadows with lots of grass. All the rainy weather kept the creek running and made the ride wonderful.

WATER HOLE

Don't let the horses roll. The rains kept the water holes full.

There has been a lot of rain lately so the forest was green and fresh. Here's the group coming up one of the great trails.

The weather was on and off rain, then a bit of snow. How beautiful is this?

BUSHY KNOLL IN THE EVENING

It's a good thing most of us brought blankets for the mules and horses. The snow was gone when we woke up in the morning.

LUNCH BREAK IN THE SHADE

Here we are gathered in the shade for a welcome lunch break and good conversation.

WATER STORAGE TANK

We stopped to check out this large water storage tank and since it was hot guess who went in for a swim. If you guessed Linda Corbin and Diana Gigerich you're right. They cooled off and had a nice ride to camp.

LUNCH BY THE LAKE

We had a beautiful spot to stop for lunch by the lake. A couple of riders rode into the lake up to their waists to cool off, or were they fishing?
